For New Readers

How Best to Read This Blog

A number of people have asked me for guidance on how best to receive this blog. My game plan for Future Freeport is to write approximately one post per week, but my posting will be on random days so for you to have to check back to see what is new is, well, less than ideal.

The alternatives are:

Subscribe via Email. An easy way is sign up to receive posts via email. This will be approximately once a week. I use FeedBurner’s email service for this, which makes it very easy to unsubscribe at any time if you get sick of me. I personally despise SPAM and I won’t SPAM you. If you subscribe by email, I promise I won’t do anything with your email address that isn’t related to Future Freeport.

Subscribe to the RSS Feed. RSS rocks. It allows you to subscribe to this blog, and all kinds of other content on the internet, within an RSS reader (like Google Reader) or RSS enabled browser (like FireFox). I use Google Reader and highly recommend it.

Comments Please

One of the reasons I’m taking the time to write this blog is to encourage a conversation in town about Freeport’s future. So I’m counting on people to use the comment function at the end of each post to let me know what you think. Please chime in. And don’t be afraid to tell me if you think I’m out to lunch. Some alternative voices will make this a heck of a lot more fun and interesting.

When you comment, it is your choice as to whether you do so publicly or anonymously under a made up name. You’ll need to provide a valid email address (so I can keep the spam out), but only I will see it. Your email address will not appear publicly. I would prefer it if people would be transparent about their identity (as I am), but if you aren’t yet comfortable with this, then it’s OK to use an alias.

Table Manners

I will moderate comments according to the following guidelines:

- if I wouldn’t tolerate it in my living room, I won’t tolerate it here
- keep in mind my kids and their teachers read this
- be reasonable
- no personal issues or agendas please
